The time and space controls from the main game are carried over but serve different functions here, such as the rewind control now turning the targeted character into an "infant state", making them smaller and weaker. Versus mode, a new addition to the game, pits the Tom Toms against the Time Sweepers, with up to four players able to join. The player can use these characters in both the story mode and versus mode. The player can customise these characters at any time in the hub world for the respective team, with an in-depth set of sliders to scale various different aspects of the character, and various outfits, accessories, emblems, styles and colours to choose from. He is instead replaced with two teams of four customisable characters, with a team for the Time Sweepers and a team for the Tom Toms. ĭespite being the game titled after the character of Blinx, he is not playable in this game, being only present during cutscenes. The story mode can be played in both single-player and in co-operative, with a second player able to join the game. If the player is caught as a Tom Tom, they must hide, as the Time Sweepers will otherwise quickly defeat them. ![]() They also have guns, which can be used to take out Time Sweepers at risk of attracting attention to themselves. In this mode, the player has several gadgets at their arsenal to control space, distract the Time Sweepers and to assist with their passage through the level, such as decoys and wormholes. Meanwhile, the Tom Toms control much like a stealth game, with the player aiming to avoid Time Sweepers to collect loot at a location, and then return it to their initial location without being caught. Each Time Sweeper level has multiple missions that the player can choose to do, although only one needs to be completed in order to progress. Some of these controls can also be combined, allowing the player to use certain effects with each other, such as speeding themselves up with the fast forward while slowing the world down at the same time. The player no longer needs to collect the crystals in any order to receive a time control, but rather just collect three of a particular crystal. When shooting debris, the player can now lock onto enemies, a feature planned for the original game. Much of the core gameplay is retained from the first game for the Time Sweepers, with each Time Sweeper equipped with a vacuum that can collect debris, time crystals, and gold crystals. In Blinx 2, the player switches between playing as the Time Sweepers and the Tom Toms. Like the previous installment, it is playable on an Xbox 360 using backwards compatibility. Released in 2004, it is the sequel to Blinx: The Time Sweeper. I don't really know how productive this discussion can be because it's hard to pinpoint definitively why people bought or didn't buy something.Blinx 2: Masters of Time and Space (released in Japan as Blinx 2: Battle of Time and Space) is a platform video game developed by Artoon and published by Microsoft Game Studios for the Xbox. ![]() deadfire was made on the assumption that the sales and reviews of that game indicated both a general desire for games of that type in the market and that the press and consumers thought that we did a good job overall. it made money and it reviewed well in the press and among players, which doesn't mean it's objectively good, but to us it indicated that 1) we should make a sequel and 2) we should identify the things that people didn't enjoy in the first game and address them. I was involved in the PR and marketing pushes for both games and we had a lot more trouble getting marketing pieces out for deadfire. when we did research into how product awareness was tracking, deadfire was struggling leading up to its launch. It's true that critical role did draw a lot of attention to the game, but it's unclear how far that reached outside of our core market. yes, by now many more people are aware of the game, but the bulk of most games' sales are still made in the first two weeks following its release. Whether the scores and sales are deserved or not, pillars 1 had an 89 metacritic and sold over a million copies within a year of its release. Deadfire had an 88 metacritic and sold much worse. ![]()
